About the role:

You will be hands on and routinely based in the laboratory conducting R&D in developing in vitro and ex-vivo immunological functional assays, bioassays and technologies to evaluate target binding/competition, signalling inhibition/activation, immune endpoints, proliferation, cytotoxicity, etc
oPrimary cell assays for characterization of antibody candidates (including cytokine release assays)
oProtein production, analysis & characterization

This research will be used to progress potential therapeutics from discovery to development. You will plan, execute and interpret cell based experiments to characterise the activity of therapeutic protein candidates.

This role is predominantly lab-based. Other tasks include planning, organising, performing and interpreting data from scientific experiments both in-house and with external collaborators/CROs.

Selection Criteria:
Essential:

• PhD and postdoc in life sciences or extensive related experience e.g. cell biology, biochem, immunology, pharmacology or related
• Experience measuring drug concentrations using immuno assays
• Knowledge of target biology, antibodies, bioanalytical assays, cell-based functional assays, immunology/inflammation, regulatory requirements for early stages of product development
• Excellent communication, report writing and people skills


Highly Desirable:

Experience with antibody drug development
Collaborations with CRO or drug development companies
Grounding in molecular biology and protein purification
Experience of training and mentoring of junior members of the team
