About the role
We seek an Environmental Scientist or Engineer to join our Melbourne office to work on contaminated soil and groundwater investigations as a Senior Contaminated Land Consultant. This dynamic role includes the planning, organisation, and supervision of field work associated with contaminated land and remediation projects, the management of field samples, environmental data management, field documentation, report documentation and report writing. The role also involves providing support to a Victorian appointed environmental Auditor, including reviewing documents and report writing. proposal writing, and project management. The level of responsibility of the role will progress in accordance with the demonstrated ability of the individual.
About you
We seek a high calibre candidate with strong technical, interpersonal and communication skills who is looking for a rewarding career in environmental consulting. The successful candidate will possess:
- Qualifications in environmental science, geoscience, hydrogeology, soil science, geotechnical engineering or a related discipline and a demonstrated record of academic excellence and professional achievement
- 5 years’ experience in contaminated land consultancy with emphasis on site supervision of contaminated land investigation and demonstrated experience and understanding of soil and groundwater sampling field methodologies
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of site health and safety risk management
- Sound technical and analytical skills and the ability to be innovative
- The ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- A focus on attention to detail and quality
- Knowledge of and experience with the Victorian environmental regulatory will be highly regarded
- Knowledge of GIS and environmental software such as Esdat, gINT, or Strata, desirable
- Familiarity with principles of risk assessment (e.g. occupational risk assessment, air quality risk assessment, landfill gas risk assessment, trade waste risk assessment, contaminated land) is desired
