MINERALS RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA
The Western Australian Government is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to take on this strategic leadership role by promoting minerals research to support the sustainable economic growth, diversity and development of the minerals industry for the benefit of all Western Australians.
The Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia (MRIWA) is a statutory body established by the Western Australian Government to stimulate minerals research to support investment in, and operation of, a globally competitive minerals industry and its related supply chains in Western Australia. MRIWA’s primary function is to provide and administer funding grants to carry out minerals research. MRIWA undertakes and procures minerals research itself and also collaborates with local, Australian and global research and scientific institutions.
As Chief Executive Officer, you will:
- champion thought leadership to the minerals industry and researchers by using an evidence-based approach to identify and prosecute mutually beneficial research initiatives
- increase the profile of MRIWA while maintaining significant relationships and collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- drive strategic and practical leadership of MRIWA’s business model, budget and planning processes.
- provide expert advice to the Minister and the Board of MRIWA and contribute to the achievement of high-level government and sector wide goals
You can clearly demonstrate achievement through innovation as well as a proven track record of building, nurturing and sustaining effective working relationships. You can act decisively, recognise and harness diversity and differing points of view. You must display utmost personal integrity and high ethical standards. Previous experience of complex research and understanding of commercial drivers of the resources sector will also be well regarded.
