About the business

Brandown is a leading waste management company in the Sydney Metro area specialising in construction and demolition waste recycling. 

The growth of the business now necessitates the recruitment of a Materials Compliance Officer. This diverse role requires a highly motivated and hands-on person reporting to the Environment Manager.

About the role

Primary Functions:

• Coordination of compliance testing of recycled products including; sample collection, preparation, testing and/or dispatch for testing, resulting data entry and results evaluation
• Evaluation of waste classification reports provided for incoming waste materials to ensure compliance with environment protection licences
• Quality control sampling and testing

Secondary Functions

• Assist with initial quality accreditation and ongoing compliance
• Development of WHS documents in consultation with relevant personnel
• Assist with the preparation and recording of toolbox talks
• Assisting the Environment Manager and the Operations Managers as required

Skills and experience

• HSC graduate with minimum 2U maths
• Tertiary qualification in relevant science/engineering field desirable
• Experience in safety/quality/environment fields desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Proven time management skills and the ability to prioritise demands
• Reliable and well presented
