You will be joining our Corporate Affairs team as full-time, permanent Project Environment Advisor. You are aligned with Sydney Airport’s values of integrity and openness; safety and security; excellence; teamwork, creativity and flexibility; and sustainability.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Head of Environment, you will be responsible for:
- Providing expert input to the development assessment process to ensure environmental aspects and impacts of various airport developments are appropriately assessed and managed
- Identifying the environmental risks and requirements for the design and construction of various types of development, ensuring the environmental risks are minimised and managed
- Assisting with planning and regulatory delivery of development proposals
- Assisting with the implementation of the Airport Environment Strategy and driving continual environmental improvement
What you’ll need to be successful
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- sound knowledge of issues relevant to environmental planning and management; including air quality, contamination, water quality, heritage, ecology and noise, and working knowledge of environmental risk management, environmental management systems, environmental law
- Experience with development approvals processes including undertaking and/or reviewing environmental impact assessments
You will be degree qualified in environmental science or similar, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the environmental field within a large, high profile company, consultancy or government department.
