Due to our Company’s continued and sustained growth we have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Consultant/ Engineer/ Scientist with an interest in Mine Closure to join and learn from our team of dynamic and highly respected environmental professionals in our dedicated mine closure team.

The role will primarily involve project managing parts or all of mine closure projects, preparing mine closure plans and other relevant documentation, attending mine sites, as required, for standalone mine closure projects or part of an environmental impact assessment, government approvals, environmental management and compliance projects.  We enjoy good working relationships with our clients and work across multiple sectors.

We are seeking people with:

  • A Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Planning or related field
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in the geo-environmental / mining fields.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in project management, ideally technical multidisciplinary project management.
  • Demonstrated understanding, skills and experience in more than one of the following fields:
    • Geomorphology
    • Geochemistry
    • Environmental engineering
    • Site contamination
    • Stakeholder engagement
    • Geotechnics
    • Hydrogeology
    • Hydrology
    • Erosion assessment/ soils science
    • Civil engineering
    • Mining approvals
  • Experienced with multiple stakeholder communication/ engagement
  • Sound communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others both internally and externally
  • Experience working on mine sites or complex brownfield remediation projects.
  • Experience in mine closure planning and/ or implementation
  • Confidence in meeting, advising and working with clients and regulators
  • Experienced MS Excel and MS Word user
  • Excellent scientific writing and time management skills
  • Current drivers licence
