The Role

AECOM's Environment Business in Hunter-NSW has an exciting opportunity for an experienced planning professional to join a high performing team and take a leading role in driving project delivery and excellence in client-service within the Impact Assessment & Permitting (IAP) Team.

Due to a strong pipeline of projects within the industrial, transport, water utilities and mining sectors we are looking for an experienced individual to join our well-established environmental planning team.

This role will provide the opportunity to work as part of a team or take a leading position on high profile, challenging projects, which will support the continued growth of our business and foster the growth of our planning and approvals capability across the region. Of key note are unique opportunities to help grow our market leading position across a variety of sectors.

Using your excellent communication skills, you will build positive relationships with peers, clients and stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation. In addition, this role will see you working closely with scientists and engineers of varying disciplines, drafters and project administrators as well subcontractors.

You will be actively involved in bid development and winning bid strategies, with business development and client relationship management a key focus for the role.

About You

  • 5+ years of relevant impact assessment experience
  • Accurate reporting skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience working on NSW and Commonwealth Projects (advantageous)
  • Experience working for a consultancy (preferred)
  • An ability to engage effectively with clients and deliver excellent service
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to manage budgets
  • Work experience in transport and utilities (advantageous);

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Town/Urban/Environmental Planning or Environmental Management/Science/Engineering (or similar) – Essential
  • Project management training/accreditation – Advantageous
