Role Overview
Located in Wyong and reporting to the Product & Process Implementation Manager this role presents an exciting opportunity to work in a varied and challenging position where you will have the opportunity to do what you do best every day.
As the Raw Materials Technologist you will play a key role in Material Quality Management process of raw materials and ensure food safety standard compliances are being meet. Material Quality is managed through the detailed technical risk assessment of food raw materials. This role will also support the deployment of new raw materials to site as related to innovation activities.
Responsibilities
- Development and maintenance of detailed, technical raw material risk assessments defined in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with new product development to support line trials and in-plant validation of new products/materials
- Support raw material cost improvement projects by providing early inputs into project scopes, driving some projects from start to completion, and coordinating the portfolio of projects around the PPI team
- Assess food safety hazards associated with Raw materials and ensure translation of risk into site HACCP plans
- Drive continuous improvement and proactively add value to the current processes
- Participation in issue Investigation for non-conforming raw materials
Qualifications and Competencies
- Education & Professional Qualification: Bachelor in Food Science or equivalent
- 3-5 years' experience in a food manufacturing environment with exposure to quality and food safety of raw materials
- Previous experience in a FMCG or consumer goods environment highly regarded.
- Strong communicator, articulate and to the point. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A good understanding of food ingredients and their functionality, food manufacturing, food testing methods and scientific methodology is desirable.
