About the Position

ANSTO Health are seeking an experienced Production Operator to undertake the duties associated with production and manufacturing of the full range of radiopharmaceuticals and radioisotope based products.

Operating within a highly regulated production environment the Production Operator performs work in accordance with batch manufacturing instruction and records to meet product specifications.  The position is required to operate to strict GMP compliance whilst delivering high levels of production within a cohesive team environment to meet tight production schedules.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Perform routine production of the full range of radiopharmaceuticals and radioisotope based products and intermediates in accordance with procedures to meet tight deadlines, quality standards and production schedules. This includes manufacturing using hot cells, undertaking aseptic assembly steps, preparing components and operating other production equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance of equipment as required in accordance with training, approved procedures, guidelines and safety instructions
  • Provide input and support to validation planning, execution and report writing
  • Work on shift roster and/or flexible hours to meet operational requirements

Skills and Experience

  • Perform duties in an area where radioactive materials are handled under tightly controlled safety conditions
  • Ability to stand for lengthy periods, use hand manipulators and lift up to 23kg; manual handling aids are incorporated as appropriate
  • Perform routine maintenance work for breakdowns in a timely manner
