Regional exploration support is provided through Newmont Australia Perth team which is located in Welshpool.
Purpose
Nemwont is seeking a Database Analyst to work part time 20-24 hours per week. Within this role you will be responsible for the administration of geological data stored in various SQL databases as well as supporting the continuous improvement of data processes for Australian geologists.
Essential Duties
- Hold accountability for the validity and integrity of database work performed.
- Perform the duties of the Data Administrator as required.
- Perform all facets of data entry into the geological databases including collar, survey, sample, assay and geology entries.
- Export data from the geological databases as requested.
- Continuous improvement in the geological data collection, validation and data delivery (export) functions as required by geologists.
- Conduct audits of the Regions geology databases, confirming the standards are followed.
- Development and improvement of the Global Drill costs database, to track drilling costs and productivity.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Strong analytical and IT technical skills
- Good communication skills and demonstrable ability to work in a team environment
- Bachelor of Science in Geology/Computer Science or Mathematics
- 6+ years mineral exploration or mining oriented experience.
- Of the experience, at least 5 years in database management.
- Applicable experience with AcQuire, Datashed or other commercial SQL databases.
- High level of SQL Server skills
