With employment opportunities that range from the vine to the glass, we’re currently seeking a Winemaker to join our Berri Estates team in the beautiful Riverland region.
Reporting to the Senior Winemaker, in this role you will Propose winemaking changes pre-vintage to improve wine quality and Elicit winemaking program showing flexibility around changing wine condition and cellar/winery capabilities to achieve the quality/style needed for responsible brands. Oversee the planning and implementation of all Cellar & Laboratory activities on a daily basis – including the distribution of Cellar notes and data entry. You will drive the daily ferment tastings during vintage and the subsequent delivery of work orders. And be responsible for all tasting and blending decisions on red & white wines to achieve the quality/style needed for responsible brands determined by the senior winemaker - commercial.
You will also be responsible (day to day) for ensuring ongoing certification of all Risk Management Systems, including HACCP, ISO9000, ISO14000, AS4801, and engendering a culture of continuous improvement in the performance and outcomes of all these programs, And Responsible for producing wines that comply with regulatory requirements.
With a tertiary qualification in winemaking or a related discipline, you will have 2-3 years’ experience in winemaking, which could include vineyard, viticulture or grower liaison functions. It’s essential that you can demonstrate superior planning, organisation and leadership skills, paired with strong problem solving and decision making skills.
