ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

Our Geochem business provides analytical chemistry services to the mineral exploration and mining industries, and due to increased growth we have an opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant join our team at Townsville.
Some of the responsibilities include being assigned duties of weighing, digestion and preparation of samples for analysis and being responsible for reasonable tasks as assigned by the supervisor, production manager or manager.

RESPONSIBILITES

As a Laboratory Assistant you will be responsible for:

• Sample preparation
• Weighing of samples
• Digestion and volumetric preparation of samples
• Timely delivery of results
• Following QC procedures to avoid contamination
• Compliance with company OHS policies & procedures

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to OH&S and will possess the following attributes:

• Previous laboratory experience and understanding of laboratory procedures (DESIRABLE)
• An understanding of sample preparation procedures
• Proactive and hands-on approach
• Good team & interpersonal skills
