Laboratory Technician

This vibrant, expanding NATA accredited environmental company, is seeking a Full time LaboratoryTechnician to join a small team that strives to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time. A position is available in our Asbestos Identification lab.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Processing and analysis of bulk building material samples for asbestos fibre identification using dispersion staining and polarized light microscopy
• Ensuring that analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with in-house methods including QA/QC
• Organizing designated tasks to maximize daily efficiencies
• Completing all tasks and analyses within both the time set down by the supervisor and the relevant analysis standard
• General administration: report typing, filing etc.
About you:
• A desire to work in small & friendly, high-throughput, customer focused environment
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
• Desire to learn new skills
• A strong desire to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time
• A genuine interest in the Science/Environmental Industry, preferably with previous microscope experience and/or TAFE qualifications in Laboratory Techniques
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Experience is an advantage but not essential.
