About the Job


The Future Industries Institute (FII) was established with a new research culture in mind – one deeply engaged with industry, with the end goal of building economic growth through relevant innovation and industry partnership. The Institute represents UniSA’s largest single investment in research and builds on the significant capability, infrastructure and reputation of the University’s existing research strengths and substantial research infrastructure.

As the Microfabrication Technologist you will contribute to the consultancy and research activities of the Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) through the provision of highly specialised microfabrication services related to the fabrication of high-end microfluidic chips and specialty surfaces for internal and external clients.


Skills and Experience

To be eligible, you will have tertiary degree, or equivalent professional accreditation and standing, in engineering, chemistry, physics, materials science or a closely related discipline, with considerable subsequent relevant experience. Specifically, you will have highly developed technical and practical expertise with hands-on experience, in one or more areas of photolithography, etching, metal or metal oxide deposition, or other fabrication technique directly relevant to lab on a chip / microfluidics / MEMS technology. You will also have the ability to design 2D and 3D components and devices using advanced computer software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar.
