Heritage Advisor – Built Heritage

EXTENT Heritage is a leading heritage consultancy servicing Australia and the Asia Pacific since 1998. We specialize in the provision of heritage management services to a diverse range of private and public sector clients.  Our team have over 25 years' experience in providing quality heritage advice and this highly respected and motivated team is the cornerstone to our success. 

Extent Heritage has an opportunity for a professional to join our team as a Heritage Advisor within our Sydney office. The position has primary focus on built heritage but we are always keen to discover professionals with flexibility and strengths across other specialist areas. This position will suit a highly motivated built heritage specialist with well-developed report and proposal writing skills who enjoys working in a close-knit supportive team environment.

Essential Criteria

You will have:

  • An honours degree in Heritage, Planning, Architecture, History or equivalent experience specialising in built heritage.
  • 2-4 years' experience working in heritage management and consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience of heritage assessment, fabric survey and analysis, impact assessment and development of mitigation measures.
  • Knowledge of the statutory requirements relating to built heritage in NSW.
  • Demonstrable report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated research skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet quality, budget and timeframe requirements.
  • An ability to work well in a team and bring drive and motivation to achieve high quality work.
  • Construction ('white') card, or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable

The following desirable criteria would be considered favourably:

  • Masters level qualifications in heritage conservation.
  • Rail Industry Worker certification.
  • Specialist skills such as preparation of specifications, drafting, planning or interpretation.
  • Driving licence, with ability to drive manual vehicles
