The successful applicant will participate in the research program of Prof Tim Stinear within the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Doherty Institute. The research program is focussed on investigating essential gene regulation in Staphylococcus aureus. This project involves screening a small molecule compound library against genetically modified S. aureus to identify compounds that specifically activate a regulatory system called WalKR. The successful candidate will be expected to design, undertake and analyse experiments of independent and original research.
