Malteurop is a world leader and supplier of malt in the malt industry. Founded in 1984 the Group has an international presence with malting plants situated all around the world. Malteurop manufactures and produces malt for all major sectors including brewers, distillers and malt-based ingredients for agribusiness industries.
Malteurop is currently in the process of recruiting for a full time Laboratory Technician to be located at their plant in North Geelong.
Reporting to the Quality and Laboratory Coordinator in this position you will be responsible for;
- Performing and documenting daily laboratory analysis on barley and malt
- Participating in the operation and testing of micro malting unit and testing of samples
- Communication and maintenance on work flow, instrument performance and analytical outliers
- Analytical equipment operations and troubleshooting
- Calibration of analytical systems
- Maintaining corporate quality methods, standards and best practices
- Participation in production activities including weigh bridge operation and sample collection.
To be successful in this position you will have;
- At least 3 years laboratory analytical experience working in an industrial operation
- A certificate in appropriate laboratory operations or degree in a technical discipline ie: Food / Applied Science
- Proven ability to prioritise and meet conflicting deadlines
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and documented test methods
- Aptitude to anticipate and solve technical problems
- Well develop literacy and numeracy skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Skills in MS office and exposure to ERP systems with SAP experience advantageous
