The Business

This technical business has been operating for many decades and is well known within the varied industries it services.  Providing technical services including servicing and calibration of a variety of technical equipment.  Key to successful operations for this business is a robust quality system that ensures compliance to regulatory bodies such as NATA.  In addition the quality system needs to be able to be applied throughout the business with minimal disruption to daily activities.  Achieving these two outcomes will be critical in this role.

 

The Role

  • Define, document, drive and manage the Quality System including processes, procedures and related documents.  Ensure all are comprehensive, accurate, current, inclusive of regulatory requirements and communicated internally in a timely manner.

  • Analyse quality related information, identify matters requiring attention and ensure appropriate adjustments are implemented.

  • Manage, conduct and record maintenance and calibration activities of technical equipment.

  • Ensure technical equipment register is established and maintained.

  • Interface with all areas of the business and external bodies.

  • Plan quality and operational activities in a manner that ensures compliance whilst achieving minimal disruption to daily business activities.

  • Ensure quality system requirements are achieved within required timeframes.

  • Conduct quality system and equipment training.

  • Conduct, document and finalise internal audits.

  • Facilitate external audits, review audit report and ensure any non-compliances that may arise are addressed to ensure compliance.

  • Report preparation and presentation.

  • Occasional interstate travel.
     

Experience Required

  • Must have comprehensive Excel skills - intermediate to advanced.

  • Experience in a quality role in a technical, NATA accredited organisation.

  • Detailed knowledge of NATA accreditation requirements and protocols.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering/Science/Quality.

  • Significant experience in quality related activities including conducting internal audits, documentation and procedure development, internal training and facilitating discussions/visits by external accreditation bodies.

  • Proven ability to establish productive, professional relationships.

  • Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills alongside solid MS Office Suite, internet and email skills.
