Detail information about job Research Veterinarian. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • Work with a team to improve the health and wellbeing of animals
  • Join a growing, innovative business
  • Live a rural lifestyle in the unspoiled Northern Rivers

About the business

Invetus is the largest veterinary clinical research organisation in Australasia. We operate from two main sites in northern NSW, as well as NZ. We are young and growing, with great plans for the future. We are guided by our Charter, and a strong set of Values, to ensure we are a professional and caring organisation, who deliver the outstanding quality our clients expect, on time and on budget.

About the role

The Research Veterinarian leads and coordinates assigned projects, with a small team of other veterinary professionals. This involves the full set of research activities from study design through to final report, from small to large projects, at either GCP or GLP level, pen or field. The Research Veterinarian also undertakes general veterinary and animal husbandry duties, training of staff, ensures compliance with SOPs, interacts with clients and other stakeholders as necessary, and operates as a strong team player. This role reports to the Research Manager, and works closely with other senior technical staff.

Why Invetus?

Invetus contributes to the health and wellbeing of animals by helping in the development of new medicines and treatments - and sometimes food as well! We are evidence based, focussed on animal welfare, and very good at what we do. Many of our clients bring repeat work, and we are constantly seeking new areas of business. We invest in our people and our processes and set clear priorities.

Skills and experience

You must be a registered veterinarian, with the right to practise in NSW. Higher level study will be well regarded, as will previous experience in animal research. You will be confident working with a range of animals in a range of situations, and will understand research methods, scientific terms and processes. You will be able to operate effectively in a team, demonstrate strong attention to detail, work well to deadlines, and communicate with a range of stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
