About the Position
The Environmental Division in Stafford, Brisbane is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join a team that strives to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time. A full time position is available in our Metals section which is a close-knit team within the laboratory. The successful applicant will receive on-the-job training in the technical components and procedures of the role.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Preparation and analysis of soil, water, and marine sediment samples for a variety of tests throughout Ensuring that analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with the ALS Quality Work Instructions including QA/QC
• Organising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiencies
• Completing all tasks and analyses within both the time set down by the supervisor and the relevant analysis standard
• Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type and sample behaviour

About you

• A desire to work in high-throughput, customer focused environment, with preference given to those with previous commercial laboratory experience
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills
• Desire to learn new skills
• Good communication skills
• A commitment to quality and safety
• A strong desire to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time
• Tertiary or TAFE qualifications in science or a related discipline will be highly regarded
• General understanding of computers (Excel)
• Flexibility to work a 38-hour week and able to work Afternoon shift 2-10pm
