The role
The primary purpose of the positions (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor) is to undertake research activities; teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level including course coordination; higher degree research student supervision; and professional activities in multiple focus areas of Computer Science.
The appointees will contribute to the University’s strategic initiative on the growth of computer science talent. You will have the opportunity to leverage significant industry and international networks, and work on cutting-edge technologies on the front-line of a number of applications areas including but not limited to energy, biomedicine, health, IoT, transport and utilities, business, and finance.
The person
We seek to appoint researchers with interest and experience in systems thinking and well versed in state-of-art technologies and industry trends. Applicants should possess a doctorate (PhD) in Computer Science or a related field. The focus areas for the positions are:
- software engineering, secure program development, formal program verification, program analysis, programming language theory and implementation
- machine learning, artificial intelligence, data mining, data science, robotics, computer vision, human augmentation, natural language processing, information retrieval
- computer networks, cyber security, distributed computing, theory of computing, algorithms and complexity, embedded and real-time systems
The successful appointees will have experience in the development and delivery of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level, experience in course coordination and national recognition for research, with a publication record in high quality peer-reviewed journals. Remuneration
This is a full-time continuing appointment available at Academic Level B, Level C, or Level D. Appointment level will be commensurate to qualifications and experience.
The remuneration package for Level B will be in the range $92,142 - $109,419 per annum plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $107,807 - $128,020 per annum).
The remuneration package for Level C will be in the range $112,874 - $130,150 per annum plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $132,063 - $152,276 per annum).
The remuneration package for Level D will be in the range $135,909 - $149,731 per annum plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $159,014 - $175,185 per annum).
