About the Role
Our established Ecology is team is seeking to recruit a Botanist with at least 2 years’ consulting experience to join our Perth based team. You will work closely with a friendly team of highly experienced Ecologists, Botanists, Zoologists and Environmental Scientists.

The primary accountability of the role includes undertaking botanical surveys including reconnaissance & detailed surveys, targeted flora and community surveys and subsequent flora identification throughout Western Australia as well as preparation of technical reports including vegetation and flora assessments, constraints assessments, clearing permit applications and documentation to support referrals.
 
The successful candidate will have the following capabilities and experience:

• Bachelor degree qualifications in an environmental science, botany or ecology discipline
• Minimum of Two years consulting experience as a botanist, preferably within Western Australia
• Demonstrated skills in flora and vegetation community type identification
• Ability to undertake field work throughout WA in various environments and sometimes remote locations
• Strong team development skills
• Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good people relationship and networking skills
• Focus on client service
• Ability to manage simultaneous projects and determine priorities
• Proven experience in and a sound understanding of current environmental issues and Commonwealth and WA legislation
• Proven experience in proposal development and project management and working as part of a team.
• In order to be successful you will need to be a collaborative and cooperative team member with strong communications skills and a focus on clients.
