A leading Australian Service Provider is currently seeking an experienced Data Science Engineer who is passionate and enthusiastic about data and how it can be used to build real value for the company. They are on a journey to create a hybrid data analytics environment that brings the control of a structured data warehouse for corporate and regulatory reporting together with the fast evolving world of cloud analytics for delivering immediate insight to drive their customer engagements.
Reporting to the Head of Data Science, you will be designing, implementing and maintaining cloud environments using the AWS platform which includes the evolution of the Data Warehouse estate to meet the challenges of an information centric world striving for ever more data to drive business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Be involved in Big Data Implementation of AWS Stack
- Leading the full life cycle of the implementation from design to delivery
- Undertaking the role of Big Data SME and being central point for Knowledge Sharing across the team
- Providing expertise in machine learning and real time data processing
Key Skills
- Experience of SQL (MySQL and/or Postgres)
- Advanced Software Engineering experience, ideally with Python and/or Java
- Strong AWS experience, ideally Lambda and Redshift
- Broad understanding of ETL routines
- Passion for data
- Strong opinions on the latest trends around machine learning & cloud analytics
