Detail information about job Occupational Hygienist. Terms and conditions vacancy
Occupational Hygienist
Robson Environmental, established in 1990, is Canberra's leading asbestos and hazmat consultancy within a multi-disciplinary team covering environmental assessment & remediation, occupational hygiene, workplace safety, NATA accredited laboratories and a training facility.
Robson Environmental is experiencing unprecedented growth and is looking for multiple professionals to join our friendly, positive and dynamic team.
The Role
We are looking for a qualified Occupational Hygienist (or an applicant currently completing their Masters in Occupational Hygiene) to work on a wide range of exciting projects in a fast paced environment. This role would suit someone who enjoys highly varied work as part of a well-supported team. Robson Environmental is a workplace which values quality, and we pride ourselves on providing solution-oriented assessments and advice to our clients.
As a member of our Occupational Hygiene team, you will be providing occupational hygiene consulting services to clients including:
- Designing appropriate sampling strategies
- Occupational exposure monitoring
- other hygiene assessments (e.g. noise surveys, IAQ, mould, chemical risk assessments)
- project management
- report writing
As a Senior Consultant you will be expected to liaise with clients, offer mentorship to more junior staff and take an active role in maintaining Robson's high level of performance, quality, and safety. You will also be expected to be flexible to adapt to changing tasks during the working day due to the highly reactive nature of the industry. Overtime/time in lieu is paid at penalty rates.
As Robson Environmental has a separate Hazardous Materials team this role will include only limited asbestos work.
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in OHS, Science, Engineering or other suitable discipline
- Postgraduate qualification (or completing) in Occupational Hygiene or a minimum of 5 years experience
- Full unrestricted drivers license
- Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
- The ability to travel interstate and work flexible hours including overtime when required
- Able to obtain security clearances, and a satisfactory health check
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
Desirable
It is envisaged that the successful applicant would be a provisional or full member of the AIOH or be eligible for membership.
