A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Food Technologist is available with a leading manufacturer of meat products based in Brisbane's western suburbs. Due to an increase in business and the site taking on extra responsibilities, a need for assistance in the NPD department has become available. There are lots of exciting concepts to work on so you will need to be aware of the latest food trends both locally and around the world. The manager is very supportive and can offer flexible working hours and ownership of projects, giving this role great autonomy. If you have achieved getting food products to launch, have a food science background and have a creative mind, we would love to hear from you.
Role Responsibilities:-
- Assist with the management of NPD projects from formulation to commercialization
- Prepare bench samples
- Prepare trial briefs and manage online trials
- Assist with Regulatory, Compliance and label development
- Review current product development processes and suggest improvements
- Liaise with Production and Quality Assurance teams
- Participate in product sensory evaluation
- Work with Procurement and QA on approved supplier programs
- Ensure new and existing raw materials are in supply and cost effective
- Adhoc duties as required
To be successful in this role, you will have:-
- Qualifications in Food Technology or a related discipline
- Experience working with meat / proteins
- Proven analytical, problem solving and planning skills
- Strong knowledge of the stage gate process
- Working knowledge of Australian food standards code
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work autonomously and take the lead for projects
- Flexibility with working hours around trials
On offer is a generous salary package ($70,000 - $80,000 + super), a very knowledgeable and supportive manager, great autonomy and long term job stability.
