About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Scientist to join our team. Working from our Penrith office, this role is responsible for managing and performing the maintenance/service of CBRN equipment and related systems for clients of J3Seven and all related entities. This role will report directly to the Operations Manager and is a hands-on, technical role that requires a strong eye for detail.
Key fundamental tasks will include (but are not limited to):
- Diagnosis and repair of CBRN equipment and related systems
- Monitoring and maintaining equipment management systems and networks
- Conduct product training for clients as directed
- Providing diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
- Directing staff/ clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help resolve CBRN equipment issues
- Testing and evaluating new technology
- Management of other technicians

Skills and experience
What you will need to succeed is:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a physical science or electrical engineering - Essential
- Previous Instrument technicial qualification and/or experience - Essential
- Experience with use/ repair of GC-MS, IMS, FTIR, Raman Spectroscopy, Radiation detection systems - Desirable
- Extensive CBRN equipment experience - Desirable
- Proven experience with the repair of high end analytical equipment - Desirable
- Technical software and computer networking experience - Desirable
