A global leader in the environmental services industry has an excellent opportunity for an Asbestos analyst to join their team. The company is rapidly expanding in the Australian market and is offering a permanent position to the right candidate with great opportunities for career development and progression.
Duties:
• Perform asbestos analysis on a variety of samples in tandem with conducting calculations & data entry as well as ensuring all work is cross checked between analyses.
• Independently perform all maintenance on instruments and microscopes.
• Monitor, encourage and instruct prep technicians in tasks as and when necessary.
• Work to NATA standards at all times
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Set a good example in regard to work ethics to other staff.
• Participate in regular quality standards meetings and advance the philosophy in daily work practices.
Essential Competencies:
• Demonstrated experience working as an Asbestos Technician
• Although a related science degree would be beneficial, 12 months of continuous service in an asbestos laboratory or NATA accredited laboratory is essential
• Good laboratory practice and good work practices
• Ability to work in a safe manner, adhering to email, overtime and employment rights policies
• Abiding by policies regarding integrity of results
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work alone and in a team
