About the position:

In this challenging and complex role, you will have the opportunity to work across business units to influence outcomes through innovative, strategic & sound technical advice.  You have the opportunity to share your skills with experienced water industry professionals, to utilise intelligent integrated data platforms (e.g. GIS, SCADA, BI) and identify solutions in a large urban water utility. 

Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

  • Provide specialist knowledge to Unitywater staff in the fields of either chemistry, microbiology, public health and/or risk management for the provision of safe water products to our communities
  • Lead collaborative investigations with asset performance and network engineers to identify engineering solutions for complex water quality related issues
  • Prepare accurate technical reports that will influence what we do

Key qualities for success:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in science or engineering with demonstrated knowledge of chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry or public health.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognise, investigate and solve problems of a scientific nature without supervision coupled with effective analytical, problem solving and investigative skills
  • The ability to produce accurate reports and data analysis without supervision, including the ability to self-review, identify and resolve inconsistencies
  • Experience in the water industry and/or knowledge of drinking water and/or recycled water management practices would be highly regarded
