Laboratory Metallurgical Technician

Western Australia Specialty Alloys (WASA) is the only producer of nickel based super alloy in Australia and produces both Forging Alloys and Remelt Master Alloys for the aerospace, power generation and oil & gas industries. Our customers are worldwide including Europe, USA, UK, China, Japan and other parts of Asia.

Applications are sought from certificate IV, diploma or degree qualified candidates in the filed of chemistry or laboratroy science, metallurgy or material science. Graduates and those soon to graduate are encouraged to apply.The position available will require willingness and ability to work hard, to learn the laboratory processes before developing these skills and applying them to control the chemistry in the superalloys, to meet the demanding customer requirements.

You will be a part of a small team whose input is essential to the running and profitability of the business. You will gain exposure to state of the art technology and equipment in a facility which is the only one of its type in Australia; melting nickel base and cobalt base superalloys for the gas turbine, aircraft and aerospace industries.

You will be required to work shiftwork. The shift pattern presently being worked is 4 teams working a rotational shift of 12 hours 7 days per week.
