The position will require a hands-on Laboratory Manager that will report directly to the Quality Manager at Alkaloids of Australia. The laboratory operates within a GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and is TGA regulated.
Responsibilities will include:
- Management of a Laboratory associated with the manufacture of non-sterile, active pharmaceutical ingredients.
- Providing technical and practical support to a small team
- Performance monitoring
- Scheduling the daily work load
- Maintaining relevant documentation
- Meeting all Quality Control requirements
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following minimum requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Science with preference for a Chemistry background
- Excellent people management skills with previous experience in the management or supervision of staff within a laboratory environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with other departments
- Experience with wet chemistry and the ability to carry out analysis as required
- Demonstrated experience with analytical instrumentation including HPLC, GC and GCMS with the ability to carry out hands-on trouble shooting and maintenance
- Experience in method development and validation of analytical methods
- Experience and knowledge of GLP and maintaining a quality management system
- Previous experience in a pharmaceutical or chemical environment – preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices within a TGA regulated environment – preferred but not essential
- A strong dedication to being a team player to achieve the best organisational outcomes
