KPMG SGA is the in-house team of Chartered Building Surveyors, Environmental Scientists and Building Certifiers with full service teams in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth plus representatives offices in Auckland and Singapore. Focusing primarily on commercial property: office, retail, industrial, hotels it also is well represented across other sub groups.  At present we have an opportunity for an Environmental Consultant to join our Perth office.

 

Your New Role

Due to continued growth KPMG SGA require an Environmental Consultant for our Perth office who enjoys a balance of field and office work.  This is a significant opportunity to become a part of a rapidly expanding business and to further develop your career. This position gives you the responsibility to undertake and manage contaminated site projects, without being pigeon-holed into a dead end position.  You will have the freedom to work both in the office and field and will be involved in all aspects of the projects undertaken.  As part of this position you will be required to:

  • Manage and undertake contaminated site projects including Preliminary and Detailed Site Investigations, Remedial Action Plans, Validation Reports and Hazardous Building Material Assessments.
  • Project manage sub-contractors
  • Liaise with a variety of stakeholders including clients, sub-contractors, authorities and colleagues.

 

You Bring to the Role

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • 2+ years’ experience in environmental assessment, focussed on contaminated sites ideally with some hazardous building materials identification experience.
  • Working knowledge of the WA Contaminated Sites Act and Regulations and the amended National Environment Protection (Assessment of Site Contamination) Measure 1999.
  • An environmental science degree (or equivalent).
  • Be hands-on and practical.
  • Demonstrated skills in field sampling techniques including soil vapour investigations
  • Demonstrated project and people management skills.
  • Strong initiative and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal skills.
  • Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
