Job Summary

SST Australia & New Zealand is a leading supplier of adjuvants and spray additives for the agricultural, horticultural, and Turf industries across Australasia.

Key to our success is our commitment to quality in everything we do. We’re searching for a Quality Control Chemist who shares our obsession for quality results and is uncompromising when it comes to meeting our standards.

The overall purpose of this role is to ensure appropriate testing and approvals are in place to enable pack-off and distribution of finished goods to the market. This role is critical to cementing our reputation across the industry as a brand that is committed to quality and reliability.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Im1plementing Quality Control measures and processes in line with company policies as well as regulatory and industry standards; ensuring all policies are compliant and followed.
• Ensuring Quality Control and pack-off approvals are completed in a timely and efficient manner to enable the business to meet dispatch timeframes.
• Identifying instances of non-conformance and developing solutions for batch in conjunction with the Technical Manager.
• Continuously improving QC principles to drive efficiencies, reliability, productivity, quality and cost effectiveness.
• Management of the SST Batch Sheet Database.
• Assisting in the scoping, development, and implementation of new end customer concepts and applications in collaboration with various stakeholders.
• Troubleshooting and knowledge sharing with customers and the wider team.
• Assisting in the preparation of technical specifications and presentations for our product ranges.
• Ensuring that safety standards, environmental regulatory compliance and quality are never compromised and always followed.
• Evaluating alternative raw materials as directed by General Manager and/or Technical Manager, including the use of appropriate test methods.

Who we’re looking for

Exceptional attention to detail is key in this role as is the ability to be self-disciplined and incredibly thorough. Balancing this with working efficiently to meet customer needs and operational timeframes will ensure awesome success in this role!

The successful candidate will be someone who can work independently and has a natural drive and the initiative to identify areas of focus and persevere to achieve results. An individual that is uncompromising when it comes to achieving standards to a very high level and diligent and determined to ensure they do.

Other experience, skills and qualities required include: 

• Formal Tertiary qualification in Science/Chemistry or related discipline.
• High level of MS Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing facilities, regulatory and compliance environment, and laboratory work environments.
• Ability to work to deadlines and juggle competing priorities.
• Desire for process improvement – Keep Things Simple!
• Willingness to learn new things and get involved with the team

This is a brilliant opportunity for a recent graduate Chemist who has ideally had some exposure to an operational environment previously.
