The role

Reporting into the State Development Manager you’ll be responsible for proactively driving and controlling the delivery of Coles’ freehold development projects from conception to completion of new or replacement Coles stores for NSW. The role sits within the Coles Group Property Development team. 

To be successful, you’ll have:

• previous property development experience and preferably a tertiary qualification in areas such as property economics, law, town planning, architecture, project management
• commercial acumen combined with passion to proactively deliver world class retail developments
• the ability to confidently lead and align a team to work together effectively and deliver successful outcomes
• self-motivation and the ability to work independently
• a strategic mind with lateral ability to solve problems, identify solutions and drive appropriate actions

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• manage site or project acquisition due diligence
• complete planning and feasibilities, identifying and driving the optimum development solution incorporating Coles operations requirements
• liaise with the required internal teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of board proposals
• drive planning approval outcome including liaising closely with consent authorities, referral authorities and development application consultant teams
• tender, contractor appointment, construction and budget/cost supervision and responsibility
• oversee third party(Specialty) leasing, fit out and completion
• support the Property team in the delivery of new stores, store extensions, re-developments and existing property assets
• maintain the ongoing internal program scheduling and budget reporting
