LJ Hooker is seeking a Trust Account Bookkeeper to join our head office team. Reporting to the Financial Controller and under the guidance of a very experienced and knowledgeable Finance Chief this role will suit an individual who is highly organised, has proven attention to detail and has a strong desire to take full ownership of the Company’s trust accounts. This role would suit an experienced Trust Account Bookkeeper who has a desire to grow and develop their skillset and take full ownership of the role.

The role will handle all the day to day operations relating to trust accounts, primarily sales initially with a view to also handling property management in the near future. You will work within the broader finance team, however you will be the sole Trust Account Bookkeeper and responsible for:

  • Daily banking/deposits and daily reconciliation of Trust bank accounts
  • Management and recording of transactions associated with property sales deposits and settlements including liaising with agents, clients and solicitors
  • Month end reconciliations and assisting the broader finance team as required
  • Day to day administration of the Trust Accounting records using REX and internal CRM systems
  • Following company procedures to ensure compliance with accounting and other legislative requirements
  • Processing and payment of invoices for creditors
  • Processing and payments to Vendors, Solicitors, Landlords and Purchasers
  • Maintenance of Trust bank accounts
  • Prepare sales commission reconciliations
  • Prepare cashflow reports
  • Adhoc administrative tasks as directed

The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role handling trust accounts
  • Experience in Real Estate Trust Account software (REX would be highly advantageous)
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Excellent time management & organisational skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment when required
