Collins Executive Recruitment is exclusively recruiting for an award-winning, mixed-use property developer based in the south eastern suburbs in Melbourne.

Due to growth, my client is looking to hire an Associate to work across three business areas - Acquisitions, Business Development & Capital.

The firm currently have over $750m of projects underway, predominantly in Melbourne but also some large projects interstate. Although they have been predominantly residential focused, they are now expanding into retail, commercial and hotels.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced property executive to gain diverse exposure across three highly important business units of an entrepreneurial and growing development firm.

Upon successful hire you will be involved in:

• Acquisitions

  • Sourcing and screening on-market and off-market sites.

  • Conducting feasibility analysis, best-use analysis, researching planning code, competitor analysis and researching market comparables;

  • Assisting in preparation and management of acquisition bids;

  • Assisting in coordinating due diligence processes and relevant teams of internal and external stakeholders;

  • Assisting in preparation and presentation of Investment and Board Papers;

• Divestments

  • Assisting in appointment and coordination of external consultants.

  • Assisting in negotiating the divestment, contract negotiations and closing the transaction to settlement.

  • Collating and reviewing all relevant property due diligence documentation for the divestment.

• New Business

  • Assist in identification, assessment and establishment of new business opportunities, where synergies exist with their core business e.g. Gyms, Gaming, Bars etc;

  • Assist in finding JV partners (capital partners and landowners)

  • Conduct research, analysis and consult with industry experts to understand different business models and risks involved;

• Capital

  • End-to-end management of capital raising processes (across entire capital structure and development life cycle)

  • Liaising with capital providers - banks, funds and alternative financiers;

  • Monthly processing of drawdown payments;

  • Cashflow forecasting and monitoring of actual spend vs budget;

  • Monthly PCG reporting;

  • Investor relations.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have 3-6 years relevant experience - Corporate Finance, Real Estate Advisory, Property Development, Banking, Capital Transactions or similar;

• Ideally have studied a Masters/Bachelors in; Property, Finance, Accounting or Commerce.

• Have excellent communication skills - both written and verbal;

• Have an entrepreneurial mindset;

• Have good attention to detail, strong analytical and numerical skills;

• Be a team player;

• Be able to balance multiple assignments (have good time management and organisational skills)

• Be able to work in a dynamic, deadline driven environment;

• Be career-oriented, commercial and able to work autonomously;

• Be comfortable with travelling - interstate and sometime overseas;
