About the role

Centrecare in partnership with Red Cross have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Property Officer / Manager to join their team.

As the Property Officer you will work in collaboration with the Housing Division of the Department of Communities,  Red Cross and Centrecare Humanitarian Settlement Program identified staff to facilitate a team approach to provide the best possible care, services and support to Humanitarian Entrants recently arrived into Australia for up to   approximately 11 houses and four week tenancy.

In addition you will ensure the daily property records are maintained for transitional and head leased properties within the Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) including management of all transactions relating to the owner/agent, tenant and Centrecare.

A few specifics 

  • Ensure that properties and tenancy agreements are maintained at a consistently high standard according to Centrecare requirements and the Residential Tenancy Act 1987.
  • Support tenants to maintain all aspects of their tenancy obligations.
  • Take responsibility for all entry and exit procedures including vacated debts related to the provision of Centrecare housing.
  • Carry out regular property inspections on transition accommodation head leased in Centrecare's or more often, if deemed necessary.
  • Take responsibility for all interactions with the tenants regarding tenancy issues e.g. non-payment of rent, complaints from neighbours, eviction procedures, vacated debts and attendance at Court as per Centrecare Policies and Residential Tenancy Act 1987 requirements.
  • Maintain up to date records on the CHINTARO rental database and create CHINTARO reports as needed by reporting bodies. 

Selection Criteria

  • Current Property Management Registration. 
  • Minimum of two years relevant experience in the area of property management.
  • Well developed communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Well developed computer skills including knowledge of databases for data management in the area of property management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across cultures.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Possession of a current 'C' class driver's license and licensed vehicle.
  • Ability to work within the Catholic Ethos.
