Our client is a leader in the Australian property development industry. They are one of the countries preeminent property development and investment groups. They successfully operate a robust platform that includes real estate acquisition, development & asset management across their commercial, mixed use & residential built form sectors.
Due to their continued growth and expansion they require an experienced and successful Development Director to join their business. Reporting to the GM you will be responsible for overall stewardship of this iconic master planned community by successfully driving the team of internal DM’s as well as external consultants across detailed design, civil construction, commercial negotiation, budgeting and profitable financial outcome of this scheme.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide team leadership and strategic direction as well as commercial management
- Oversight of the delivery of built form commercial & mixed use product
- Creating the roadmap for internal & external stakeholders as well as managing the communication and navigation of stakeholders through each stage of the community’s development
- Negotiate and lobby relevant stakeholders and authorities involved in each project at a local and state level
- Maximise successful commercial outcomes through detailed design input utilising your past commercial experience
- Feasibility and budget management together with input to acquisitions that ensure long term sustainable maximisation of opportunities
- Voice suitable recommendations based on expert research and knowledge leading to directional changes and the commercial success of each project precinct
- Ensure ongoing project approvals by developing and maintaining relationships with relevant Councils and development authorities
Your qualities & experience will include:
- Recognised tertiary qualifications in property economics, business or real estate
- At least 10 years experience in the development management of mixed use, retail and commercial asset classes across large scale developments
- Excellent project reporting, financial understanding & feasibility management
- Evidence of previous success in the management of and relationship building within various Councils
- Outstanding communication skills – both written & verbal
