At ALDI, our people are the key to our success.
We are an international retailer with a significant presence in all mainland states of Australia.
To meet the continuing demand of store openings, store refurbishments and projects, we are now accepting applications to join our team. This role reports to the Property Director and will be responsible for the planning, feasibility, construction and opening processes for new stores as well as store refurbishments, with involvement throughout all aspects of the project life cycle. The ideal candidate should be confident, dedicated and have strong leadership characteristics.
You will be responsible for:
- Responsible for delivering multiple projects from pre-construction through to defect liability period
- Deliver your project to the highest standard of quality and timeliness
- Provide team leadership to your project team
- Assist with due diligence and feasibilities
- Assist with the town planning co-ordination
- Review documentation for consistency and accuracy
- Manage the tender process - assessing/reviewing and making recommendations
- Managing construction process including handover coordination with Vendor/Lessor, managing sub consultant team and defect liabilities
- Attend all site meetings, review and make recommendations on RFI’s and variations
- Assist in the final cost reconciliation
Selection Criteria:
- Flexible and comfortable working within a defined system and changing priorities
- Able to hold a high level of responsibility and trust
- A confident, clear and effective communicator, both written and verbally
- Strong financial acumen
- Strong supervision skills on a contractual level
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office
- An Understanding of Australian Standards, Building Codes and other local area requirements will be highly regarded
- Ability to interpret detailed plans and specifications to determine accuracy
- Knowledge of OH&S and environmental principles
- Degree qualifications will be highly regarded
- Project co-ordination experience in the retail or construction industry and have demonstrated success managing multiple projects
- A sound administration background, including exposure to contract management
