This position will sit within our Research division which comprises of a dedicated team of economists and researchers. The Research function is pivotal to the success of our business providing invaluable data, analysis and market intelligence to support internal teams and clients.

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of Melbourne's leading Real Estate businesses, RPM Real Estate Group as a Research Assistant – GIS/spatial Analyst. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or someone who is looking to broaden their GIS skills within the Property Industry.

RPM is seeking an analytically minded individual who can manage the teams GIS database to help support the planning, urban design and property economics requirements of the business. Ideally, the candidate will have a passion for GIS, spatial analysis, mapping and graphical presentation.  

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Preparation of GIS models (themed GIS maps and plans to support and accompany the research division’s reports and products including competition maps, amenity maps etc.)
• Administration and management of the company's Geographical Information System by maintaining the multiple databases within the company
• Generate evidence to support design and planning decisions
• Conduct land title searches, ownerships, company searchers etc.
• Uncover insights, hidden patterns and knowledge in the data being used

About you:

• Ability to conduct GIS related research and apply results to GIS maps (or alternative programs)
• Proficient use in geospatial platforms (e.g. ESRI 10.3, Google Earth, LASSI, Planning Maps etc)
• Proficient use in Adobe creative suite (particularly InDesign and Illustrator)
• Be able to work autonomously and effectively as part of a team
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Superior organisational skills - ability to manage multiple projects at once
• Intermediate to advanced level in core Microsoft packages
