Senior Accommodation Officer, equivalent to APS6 – Support the national Accommodation Team in the delivery of the department’s strategic approach to the ongoing management of departmental accommodation to ensure optimal use and occupancy across the property portfolio.

  • Assist with the management and planning for the department’s accommodation requirements and use, taking into account: business knowledge, business needs and the Commonwealth Property Management Framework;
  • Negotiate, manage and monitor accommodation moves that ensure optimal short, medium and long-term accommodation outcomes that meet business and stakeholder requirements;
  • Assist with the collection and management of property portfolio occupancy data and support accurate mandatory reporting requirements to departmental and external stakeholders;
  • Monitor and report on service provider and subcontractor performance in the management and delivery of accommodation move services;
  • Contribute to the identification, development and implementation of opportunities to improve processes, including providing input to relevant internal policies and guidelines;
  • Assist with the preparation of briefings and technical position papers as required, and provide other administrative support as necessary; and
  • Undertake effective communication with internal and external stakeholders as directed and appropriate

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience and knowledge in a similar role
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel 
  • The ability to multi-task in a busy environment;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • A current Baseline Clearance, or higher (mandatory).
