Our client is seeking someone who is available with little notice and strong experience within the Property and Community Housing sector.

About The Role

This position will be fulfilling and you will see firsthand how you can create a better tomorrow for others, however, it will require someone who has a high level of maturity and resilience. A critical role in the team, you will be the primary contact to the external community - an ability to provide high-quality customer service and build rapport is key. Experience within the Community Sector as a Property Officer/Manager or a Tenancy Officer is required. As well as liaising with tenants and the community, other responsibilities include:

  • Attend regular meetings with key clients
  • Generate reports as required
  • Ensure accurate lease information is entered into database
  • Conduct ingoing and outgoing condition reports, as well as conduct regular routine inspections
  • Manage all maintenance requests and follow up all requests are complete within a timely manner
  • Process and review tenancy applications in accordance with eligibility criteria
  • Manage rental arrears
  • Familiarise and utilise the ACT Residential Tenancies Act 1997
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About You

Bright, positive, resilient and emotionally intelligent, with strong experience in Property and the Community Sector describes the ideal candidate our client is seeking. This role requires a candidate who thrives off giving back to the community. You must be passionate about helping people and strive to offer the best customer service possible. You may be required to deal with uncomfortable situations, but you will be mature enough to overcome this. Other key skills and attributes include:

  • Experience working as a Tenancy Officer within the community sector
  • Knowledge of the ACT Residential Tenancies Act 1997
  • A strong personality with a high level of resilience
  • A positive individual who can remain calm whilst dealing with uncomfortable situations
  • Experience working with individuals at risk
  • Cert IV in Social Housing - desirable

The successful candidate must possess or be willing to go through the process to obtain a WWVP and Police Check.
