The Role

Due to McCullough Robertson's continued success and growth in the Brisbane market, we are currently seeking a Planning and Environment Lawyer to join the team.  Reporting through to Partners Stuart Macnaughton and Troy Webb, the role will provide a mix of both litigious and advisory work for a range of government, private and commercial clients, including property developers and local government and state government departments.

You can expect to advise on the preparation of project applications, prepare and respond to planning and environment court appeals, infrastructure agreements, contaminated land, environmental compliance, due diligence, local government/administrative law advisory and providing general advice to clients. Enforcement of regulatory laws is also a significant part of the practice, and experience in compulsory acquisition matters would be viewed favourably.

Experience

You will be a Planning and Environment Lawyer with approximately 3+ years PAE and up to Senior Associate level for the right candidate. Experience in Administrative Law and the Local Government Act will be highly regarded. You will enjoy working as part of a close-knit team that values personal contribution and collaboration that advances the groups outcomes.

You will also have the following skillset:

  • high attention to detail;
  • commercially minded;
  • able to identify issues and proactively come up with solutions; and
  • strong time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Benefits

Your sense of fulfilment at work is important to us and in return for your expertise and enthusiasm, we offer:

  • competitive remuneration;
  • career development opportunities;
  • subsidised gym membership;
  • active social and sporting events; and
  • in-house café.

This is a fantastic career development opportunity with a firm that is future-focused, commercial and creative.
