The role:
Our Brisbane based Employment and Safety team is seeking a talented lawyer with 2-3 years' post admission experience in employment and industrial law.
Our team advises and assists a range of employers including large corporations on all employment, industrial and work health and safety matters. The industries in which our clients operate include projects and construction, veterinary science, retail, contracting, biotechnology, aged care and allied industries, mining services, agribusiness, cryptocurrency, dredging, transport, utilities, hospitality, gaming and financial services. Thomson Geer is proud to be the exclusive legal advisor to the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with an experienced team led by a Doyle's Guide and Best Lawyers recognised Partner, and work on diverse and challenging matters for leading national and local clients involving unfair dismissal, general protections and discrimination claims, contractor management, post-employment restraints, transfer of business, redundancy, change management and restructuring, safety, workplace investigations, enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes and right of entry.
The ideal candidate will be looking for interesting, challenging work with significant client contact and responsibility. To be successful in this role, we expect that you will be:

- able to interact confidently with clients and build effective working relationships.
In addition, you will:
- have experience in a high quality practice in the areas of employment, workplace relations and work health and safety law;
- possess a detailed understanding of the Fair Work Act; and
- have demonstrated your ability to provide sound technical advice and practical business focussed solutions
