Your new company
This statutory government authority assists in the delivery of transport network services in Victoria. This authority involves a broad range of teams with a varied professional backgrounds and is comprised of nine teams within this organisation. Located in the Melbourne CBD close to several public transport stops, this authority aims to optimise transport options and also manage the transport assets within Victoria. This particular role sits within the Legal team.
Your new role
Reporting to the General Counsel, you’ll be responsible for undertaking a broad variety of legal duties with a primary focus on transactional and procurement matters. Litigation for contracts and leasing procurement is another major tasks within this role. Working within this role you will be required to work autonomously within a team of professionals who have varied legal backgrounds. Due to an influx of legal matters this role has become available on a 12 month fixed term basis.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience in a similar position, working within either a private business or government organisation, a broad understanding of different legal practice areas, experience working within the transport industry will also be highly regarded. Key skills which are required for this role include strong written and verbal communication, ability to quickly learn and apply these newfound understandings.
