Our legal teams are supported by leading Corporate Services teams including, Applied Legal Technology, Marketing & Client Services, People & Development, Finance, Business Operations, Information Technology and Knowledge Services.

The opportunity

Our Applied Legal Technology (ALT) department is looking for an experienced data processing Analyst to join our team in our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office.  You will be joining our award winning team which has recently won the Property Council Innovation & Excellence Award for Project Innovation [link removed] and the ILTA Innovative Project of the Year 2017 [link removed], for our Real Estate Due Diligence (REDDA) App. and the Lawyers Weekly Innovator of the Year 2017 award for our a+ alternative legal service offerings [link removed].

As one of the largest legal technology teams in Australia you will work alongside individuals with legal, technical and project management qualifications, providing you with exposure to a wealth of knowledge and experience.

The Analyst role is responsible for assisting the Projects Analysts, Senior Consultants and Managers in the delivery of cost effective and efficient ALT services, predominately through the provision of data processing services. Others aspects of the role include working with matter related databases, electronic discovery, document management and providing paralegal solutions, all of which enable legal teams to provide quality commercial matter results.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Electronic processing of data in support of eDiscovery and other legal review workflows.
  • Maintain and administer electronic and hardcopy document management workflows and Ringtail databases using defined processes and tools to deliver cost effective and risk averse legal technology solutions.
  • Use project management techniques to scope, plan, cost and schedule delivery of processing other legal technology work requests.
  • Provide technical administration and support to ensure database and document integrity is maintained, and security is controlled.  A hands on approach to work is expected.

What you'll bring

Applicants will have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels and as part of a team. You will have experience with data processing using tools such as EDT, NUIX or similar processing platforms. A solid understanding of database technologies, attention to detail, and robust technical skills are also essential.

Exceptional time management skills and the ability to deliver under pressure and work to tight deadlines will be important in this role. You will also be able to accept direction and understand accountabilities and responsibilities for quality work. You will be a strong team player and will be expected to collaborate with team members across the ALT department nationally.

A degree or equivalent experience in legal information management, computing science, paralegal studies or law relevant to the role is desired. A strong background in project management, information management, information technology and/or law is essential. Law firm, professional services or bureau experience is highly desirable.
