The opportunity and the role
Our Workers Compensation (WC) practice group in Bendigo is seeking an experienced Lawyer.
The person in this position will have responsibility for managing a busy and growing practice of WC files in the vibrant, regional city of Bendigo.
Critical to the role will be forging strong links with internal and external stakeholders.
Other accountabilities include:
- Management of a busy WC practice
- Leadership including mentoring, coaching and knowledge sharing opportunities with junior lawyer and support staff
- Providing exceptional service to clients
- Maintain and build new client relationships for the practice
To be successful
You will have a proven ability in using your exceptional negotiation and communication skills to provide positive outcomes for personal injury clients.
In addition you will have previously taken responsibility of a large file load. Your background will demonstrate a strong sense of initiative and ownership.
The following experience and attributes are required:
- Previous experience in Victorian Workers' Compensation is highly advantageous (ideally 3+ yrs PAE);
- Outstanding communication & interpersonal skills;
- Exceptional negotiation skills and an ability to communicate effectively and compassionately;
- Demonstrated skills in effective business development, networking and relationship management;
- Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment;
- Ability to listen to, and empathise with clients and their families;
- Ability to exercise judgement & resolve problems expeditiously and strategically; and
- Superior practice management and organisational skills.
