As one of the preeminent disputes practices in the Brisbane market, it would be easy to expect a cut-throat or competitive environment. This collegiate team don’t allow for this to occur. This culture comes from the top-down. Led by two highly personable partners, one who is particularly renowned for his ability to foster relationships across levels, reflected by his managerial responsibilities within the firm. This status also ensures a highly resourced group.
The disputes are wide-ranging. One Partner offers matters with property and development, resources and corporate commercial orientation. The second has a regulatory, competition, and intellectual property slant, with strong tech and media lines. Both access cross-border and international clients, including Middle East and Chinese lines.
The internal political position of this group’s heads means that the team are well looked after from a progression perspective, so there will be ample opportunity for you to make a mark and push for SA conversion in the near term. The financial buoyancy of both the team and the wider firm have also seen strong packaging on offer.
You will bring 3-5 years’ post-admission experience in commercial litigation. Strong academics expected with Honours or equivalent seeing you amongst peers across the team.

For the most part reviews are just around the corner or already underway. Whether you are expecting something strong, have heard rumours they'll be soft this year, have been disappointed by the initial chat or are completely in the dark, now is a good time to compare, on a confidential basis, how your situation stacks up to the market and to use the ambiguity of this time as a negotiation tool.
