Our client is a leading national law firm specialising in personal injury and providing quality legal services to individuals, businesses and communities. The firm has a strong track record in running complex and high profile class actions and supporting businesses in settling complex commercial disputes. Their exceptionally high success rate makes them one of the best personal injury law firms in Australia.

Currently, they have a requirement for a Senior Legal Secretary to join their Sydney office to manage a busy Workers Compensation practice and perform routine and non-routine clerical and administrative functions, supporting an experienced Solicitor in the day to day operations.

The Position

This is an exceptional opportunity to learn and grow with a dynamic, collegiate, and highly collaborative team. You will be responsible in ensuring that efficient work practices are maintained and make sure that all allocated tasks are completed efficiently. You will enjoy developing your skills and gaining hands-on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Drafting correspondence, ARD’s, pleadings, letters, legal documents
  • Preparing notice of claims, short minutes, affidavits, schedules
  • Organising and maintaining paper and electronic files of clients
  • Monitor all incoming emails and providing information to callers, receiving and processing requests for information
  • Liaising with clients, barristers, courts, doctors for information/scheduling/provision of information
  • Booking appointments, conferences, mediations, settlement conferences, conclaves

Skills and Experience

  • A strong secretarial background with excellent typing and document drafting skills
  • A pro-active ability to maintain high quality work with exceptional attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Medical Negligence or Common Law claims
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently and organise workload to meet tight deadlines
  • Motivation and communication confidence
  • Ability to apply compassion and empathy with clients
  • Diary management and Outlook
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
