The firm
Our client is a leading national law firm with an outstanding reputation in terms of both in term of their legal work and their working culture. Due to growth and the busyness of the team, our client is looking to appoint a talented and experience environment and planning lawyer.
The work
Working closely with a well-respected partner who and you will advise clients in both the private (especially large property developers) and public sector:
- Development consents, rezonings, planning controls, planning agreements
- Environment & Planning Litigation
- Compulsory acquisitions, environmental impact assessments, disputed land valuation claims
- Mixed use developments and master planned communities
- Development applications and approvals
As this is a role for an experienced lawyer, you will be given high levels of autonomy and client responsibility. You will also be mentoring and supervising more junior members of the team. Playing a pivotal role within the team, you will also partake in the marketing and business development activities.
The person
To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum of 4 years post admission experience in planning and environment matters, a strong commitment to building your career in this area of practice, and the confidence to play a key role in this practice's continued success. Strong academics are important. Ideally you will have gained your experience from a larger law firm environment or a specialist boutique law firm.
