The role

An opportunity has arisen for a Privacy Compliance Manager to join the Risk and Regulatory Compliance Team. This role will support the Privacy Compliance office across Coles supermarkets, Coles Express and Coles Liquor.

Reporting to the Group Compliance Manager - Merchandise, Marketing & Privacy, you will continue to grow and develop our privacy compliance culture as well as execute strategy that is required to achieve and maintain a robust and commercial compliance framework across the Coles group.

To be successful, you’ll have:

• expertise working in a privacy compliance related role at a senior level
• previous privacy experience gained in a retail environment
• a thorough understanding of applicable privacy laws and regulations
• effective communication (both written and verbal) and strong negotiation skills
• excellent problem solving skills
• a stakeholder management style that both services and challenges

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• deliver the privacy compliance program that enables consistent and effective privacy practices which minimises risk and ensures privacy policies, standards, and procedures are up-to-date
• keep abreast of regulatory change and implement programs to ensure business readiness
• provide through ongoing compliance monitoring, identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and develop / implement corrective action plans
• administer a process for investigating and acting on privacy complaints
• promote culture of privacy compliance through development of business policies, training and information as well as coordination of the Privacy Council
• provide regular and relevant compliance reporting
• liaise and provide support to the Privacy Officer and the relevant Coles executives on key privacy risks and emerging issues
